Yes, she is a capable machine. About the only thing I notice is at speeds above 65 mph (105 kph), there is more vibration felt through the handle bars. (Mine is an '87.) Also, the engine seemed to rev more freely around 7,500 miles. It was tight below that. I like it because of the tremendous torque it has, it does well at maintaining speed climbing hills.
About the only thing left to solve is the oil leak at speed. I replaced the O-ring at the bottom of the speedometer cable, which cut down on oil loss. It seems the oil leak is higher than that, it appears it may be leaking around the top end of the speedometer cable. Once I solve this, I'll feel more comfortable traveling distances.
